Last week Christopher's parents and little brother, Matthew came to visit us for a little while. They got here Wednesday night and stayed through Monday morning. We promptly threw them into family time with a salmon dinner over at Ryan and Laura's apartment. The next day was kind of lazy. We just kind of hung out and got groceries. Until the evening. Julie had a double header softball game, so we three went to that while the rest of the Fennell family had BLTs at Ryan and Laura's. After that they joined us in time to make it to Julie's second game. They won the first and lost the second. But it was a lot of fun to have extended family there to watch the games. :) After that we decided that a trip to Ritters was in order. The sister-in-laws ordered the same thing. (Inside joke here).
Friday was a very busy day. We went to Fort Wayne and played Putt Putt (even though Julie and Laura were feeling a little iffy), and raced some cars. Joe raced with Grandpa Rick and had a blast taking first place! Then we went to the mall. Of course we had to make a stop at Archivers to show Faith what Julie and Laura are all about. Then we went to Red Robin, since Laura had never been there before. We all had great food and a wonderful time hanging out despite the frigidness of the restaurant. We made it home just in time for Ryan and Laura to pack up a few things to take down to Kokomo with them; and for Julie to make ghoulash to take over to the Robertson's, since they just had a new baby girl.
Then we headed up to Michigan with Rick, Faith and Matthew to hang out with Julie's family for a little bit. What a whirlwind trip that was. We all stayed up pretty late Friday night having the leftover ghoulash and ice cream with warm peaches and just chatting. Then Saturday morning the boys went fishing. Didn't catch as much as they did when the girls went with them last time, but that's OK. ;) We met them over at Grandpa and Grandma Geresy's house and hung out there for a little bit. Just a side note: Huge answer to prayer! Julie's Grandparents are giving us a twin bed for Joe to use. We've been looking for one for a while and this one looks like it will stand up to a boy pretty well. Yay! So, anyways.... We were at the grandparents taking a tour of the land and house and the boys decided they wanted to play Farmers Golf! It's really not any different than regular golf except that there isn't actually a course. Just two holes and the first one to get there golf ball in the holes in the least number of strokes wins. Yes, we did get pictures of everyone golfing. :)
After that we hit a true Michigander restaurant and went to the Root Beer Stand. It's a drive in where the waitresses still come to your window and your order is brought on a tray that sits on your window. But we decided to take our hot dogs and root beer and go to a park. It was a beautiful day. Not to hot and not to cold, and just the right amount of wind and sun. Lovely!
You would think that this would be the part where Finally comes in, but it is not. :) I told you we did a lot.
Next we visited my sister, Vicki's fiance's hog farm. Thankfully, that was uneventful. Then we went to my older sister, Sarah's house. Everybody got to meet everyone, and we decided that Joe and Brett needed some more cousin time. So we loaded everyone in our SUV and headed back to Julie's parent's house. There we had dinner and some more hanging out time, then headed back to Indiana.
Sunday we went to church at PVBC while Rick, Faith and Matthew drove down to Kokomo to Ryan and Laura's church. Julie had a baby shower at church, and when she got back from that we had steaks on the grill (thanks Rick) and hung out a little more.
We did have a lot of fun and of course took pictures and videos. Here they are!
At Ryan and Laura's apartment.
Putt Putt (apparently people from the West Coast aren't familiar with calling it that.)
Racing the cars. Poor Ryan got stuck with a slow one.
Grandpa Rick and Joe riding together. They won!
Red Robin
The boys were tired on the way home.
What we did in Michigan.
Grandma Faith and Joe riding in the gator.
Yes, we were moving very fast when I took these.
Going to see Nudgepapa and Nudgemama's property.
Farmers golf.

Watch out Grandpa Rick!
I love this picture! (Julie)

So I was looking at my "most inactive" blogs that I read, and yours was on the list... I think that means you should update! :)
