Picking Apples

A couple of weeks ago my mom came down for a "mini vacation". She took a couple of days off and decided to come spend it with us. Monday was just spent hanging around the house and reorganizing (as is tradition when she comes down here). But Tuesday we got to go to an apple orchard in Goshen. It was quite fun. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day outside. Perfect fall weather.

And I have recently been able to make homemade applesauce with those apples. My friend, Meredith, borrowed a food mill from her mother and taught me how to make it. It turned out quite well. Now we get to have applesauce all winter that's not out of a jar. Yay! Plus, it makes your house smell really good while you're cooking the apples. Yumm!
