Potter's wedding!

Well Julie and I just got back from Jon and Christine's wedding in New York. We arrived Thursday night and stayed with one of Christine's Bridesmaids named Jessie Campbell. Jessie was an excellent host and we had a lot of fun getting to know her. Friday morning and afternoon was spent exploring Manhattan and Julie and I could not get over how big everything was. We even ate authentic New York Pizza slice(s). The only downside was that it rained the entire day. Besides going from store to store we spent the rest of the time trying to stay dry. Oh and by the way, New York drivers are crazy. I'm used to fast drivers from California but New York drivers are just plain rude. I hadn't seen so many accidents in such a short amount of time. Anyways, Friday evening was the wedding rehearsal and for me the bachelor party. We had a great time celebrating and encouraging Jon as he embarks into this new stage of his life.

Saturday was the wedding and it could not have been a more beautiful day. The wedding was held inside and Christine looked beautiful and the reception was just outside the back of the church. Amazingly it cooled down enough so that we were more than comfortable and able to enjoy ourselves.

Then Sunday we woke up bright and early at 5:00 am to catch our flight back to Chicago.
Our hostess Jessie was very gracious and gave us a ride to the airport. Chris was able to sleep for an hour or so on the flight while Julie observed people and read her book. After we got off the plane, we headed out for a 2 1/2 hour drive to Julie's parents' house to get Joe. Well her parents must have worn him out pretty good, because he slept for 3 hours before Julie decided to wake him up. We had a very good vacation, just the two of us.

Now this was going to be the part where we were going to put in pictures, but something went wrong with the comment box. So, we will be posting those on Sunday when we get back from Michigan. As a little incentive to not be mad for a post with no pics, we will also be posting a couple of videos of Joe. So, please come back.
